Initially Amy started yoga to help with her arthritis pain. But, she discovered over time that it helped with her self-confidence and self-esteem. Strong influences at a young age led Amy down a path of self-doubt, negative self-talk, and the impression of being unworthy of attention. When she became a regular yoga practitioner, she eventually found her confidence.
Yoga helped her shed the embarrassment of mistakes in class and find more poise to quiet the negative self-talk.
Since completing her yoga training in 2006, Amy has guided students in the Bikram Yoga series and its healing benefits - students who have a goal in common - to attain and maintain better health. She also teaches restorative yoga and yin yoga, which leaves students feeling a little more relaxed and a little more in control of themselves than when they started class.
Amy’s philosophy is that breath, form and alignment are the foundations of where the healing begins.
